Brian Walby is President of Walby and Associates LLC. He was previously a Senior Consultant in the Detroit office of Sullivan, Cotter and Associates, Inc., the Director of Global Compensation for TRW (a $15 Billion public corporation), the Compensation Consulting Market Leader in the Detroit office of Mercer Human Resources Consulting, and the Midwest Compensation Consulting Practice Leader for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Brian's consulting experience consists of engagements with more than 350 organizations, including foundations, universities, agencies, etc. as well as both publicly traded and private companies across all major industries and sectors in the analysis and development of direct compensation programs at both the executive and employee pay level.
Brian has been designated a certified compensation professional (CCP) by WorldatWork, has completed the core requirements for designation as a certified benefits professional, and is a former President and seven year board member of the Human Resource Association of Greater Detroit. He has been quoted on a number of compensation topics in publications including Fortune Magazine, Workforce Magazine, The Detroit News, and Crain's Business, and frequently speaks before various professional and trade groups in the Midwest.
Brian received a B.A. with a concentration in business and liberal arts from the University of Detroit, and earned a Master's and Ph.D. in career planning from the University of Michigan. Brian is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
